Acquire Equipment
The age of doing business with pen, ink, and vellum is long gone. The modern small business needs a variety of tools to conduct business. Consider your requirements. If you’re just starting out, your first purchase should probably be a reliable telephone system. Right behind the phone should be computers with Internet connectivity. Once you've decided on a platform -- i.e., PC or Apple -- stick with it for networking purposes. If you buy computers, you’ll need a printer or printers. Monochrome laser printers offer speed at an affordable price, while color laser printers, although more expensive, are now within the budget ranges of many small businesses. Other essential items in the well-stocked small business include a security system and digital camera.
