Purchase Technology

You’re starting a small business, and your budget for technology is tight. Before you refinance your home to buy the latest, most advanced computer, copier, and printer systems, ask yourself, “Do I really need all this fancy stuff?” The equipment you invest in should add value to your business and give you a return on your investment, even if it's an intangible return, such as customer satisfaction. Many small businesses have gotten along just fine on basic desktop computers, a multifunctional device that combines scanning, printing and faxing, and a telephone. If after assessing your current and future needs, you decide that you do need the top of the line, consider leasing instead of buying to save money. If you do buy, go for volume purchases from one vendor for a potential discount. And don’t forget to check freeware and free software trials to save even more.
